3. 86 88 137 3 Saab 9-5 1 Remove the lower panel. 2 Depress the clutch pedal approx. 100 mm and fit the white pedal switch in the holder. When the switch is locked in, push back the red locking sleeve and release the pedal. The pedal switch is then adjusted automatically. 3 Depress the brake pedal and fit the black pedal switch in the holder. Turn the switch 90° so that it locks into the holder. Release the pedal, this adjusts the switch automatically. 4 Press the brake and clutch pedals by hand. Check that each pedal switch is in contact with the pressure plate on the pedal, and that it “clicks” faintly when the pedal is depressed >5mm. 5 The wiring harness with connector is pre- installed in the car. Follow the cables from the brake light switch and detach the pedal switches' connectors. 6 Fit the connectors to the pedal switches. a 4-pin green connector to the brake pedal switch. b 2-pin white connector to the clutch pedal switch. 7 Check that the cables run freely, away from moving parts. 8 Fit the lower panel. 4. 4 86 88 137 Saab 9-5 9 Loosen the steering wheel adjustment. Pull the steering wheel back and down. Remove the upper steering column cover. 10 Move the steering wheel to its upper position and remove the lower steering column cover. 11 Remove the switch by pressing in the catches and then pulling it out from the holder. Unplug the connector from the switch. 12 Plug the connector into the installation kit's switch and fit the switch in the holder. Check that the switch is locked in the holder. 13 Fit the steering column covers. 14 1.9 TiD: Carry out Spare Part Programming using Tech2 in order to activate the cruise con- trol function. 15 Drive the car and test the switch and pedal switch functions: · Drive at a speed of approx. 50 km/h and press "SET". Release the accelerator pedal and the car should maintain a constant speed. · Press lightly on the brake pedal to disengage Cruise Control. · Car speed will drop to approx. 40 km/h, press "RES". The car accelerates and returns to a speed of 50 km/h. · Press lightly on the clutch pedal to disengage Cruise Control. · Car speed will drop to approx. 40 km/h, press "RES". The car accelerates and returns to a speed of 50 km/h. · Press "SET" and hold the button in for approx. 2 seconds. The car accelerates and maintains the previ- ous speed from when the "SET" button was released. E368A003 11 11 11 10
