2. 2 8685679 Saab 900 M94-, Saab 9000 M92- Ch.no N1004567, Saab 9-3 Removal 1 Put the gear lever in neutral. 2 Remove the emblem. 3 Saw a slit in the original knob and remove the black outer plastic casing. 4 Remove the tape so that the three snap fasteners for the reverse lock actuator can be released. 5 Split the white plastic core with a hacksaw. 6 Tear off the plastic core with a pair of adjustable pliers or similar tool. 7 Detach the bottom of the rubber gaiter. 3. 86 85 679 3 Saab 900 M94-, Saab 9000 M92- Ch.no N1004567, Saab 9-3 Fitting 1 Clean the splines on the metal tube with washing white spirit or similar agent. 2 Make sure the spring is fitted. 3 Apply two-component epoxy adhesive to the gear-lever knob. 4 Placetheknobonthesplinesandrotateitto distribute the adhesive evenly. 5 Make sure the number “4” on the knob is in line with the letter “R” on the reverse lock actuator. 6 Press up the reverse lock actuator so that the three catches fasten to the knob. 7 Lift the rubber gaiter slightly and press the knob down over the splines until the heel on the reverse lock actuator is max. 0-0.5 mm above the reverse lock stop. 8 Fit the gaiter and allow the adhesive to harden. Important Make sure the adhesive spreads into the gear- lever knob. D940A003 7 5
